GİRİŞ ve AMAÇ: Kronik böbrek yetmezliğinde ana fizyopatolojik değişikliklerden birisi, böbreklerin üreyi yeterince uzaklaştıramaması, bir diğeri ise idrarla kronik protein kaybıdır. Gerek ürenin kapiller permeabiliteyi artırıcı etkisi, gerekse protein kaybının intravasküler alanda osmotik basıncın düşmesine sebep olması sonucu, sıvı intravasküler alandan ekstravasküler alana geçerek çeşitli dokularda ödeme neden olmaktadır. Akciğerde sıvı perikapiller ve peribronşioler alanda yoğunlaşmaktadır. Akciğer dokusunda biriken interstisyel sıvı, ventilasyon/ perfüzyon oranını bozar (1). Bu çalışmada, son dönem kronik böbrek yetmezliği nedeniyle hemodiyaliz uygulanan hastalarda, hemodiyalizin solunum fonksiyon testleri ve arter kan gazları üzerine olan etkilerini araştırdık.

TARTIŞMA ve SONUÇ:
INTRODUCTION: In chronic kidney failure one of the main physiopathological changes is that the kidneys cannot excrete enough urea, and another one is the chronic loss of proteins with urine. Excess fluid translocates from intravascular space to extravascular space causing edema in various tissues because of the decrease of intravascular oncotic pressure resulting from both excess urea and the chronic urinary protein loss. Excess fluid in the lungs accumulates especially in the pericapillary and peribronchial areas. Interstitial edema in the lung tissue distorts the ventillation/perfusion ratio. In this study we have investigated the effects of hemodialysis on pulmonary function tests and arterial blood gases among patients who get hemodialysis treatment because of chronic kidney failure.
