Anti N-methyl-D-aspartate (NMDA) receptor antibody encephalitis is the most common autoimmune encephalitis. However, when compared to the prevalences of other neuropsychiatric diseases, it is a rare condition. Since it may present with a wide range of symptoms from depression to drug-resistant seizures, it must be considered in a differential diagnosis. It should be kept in mind that anti NMDA encephalitis usually affects young women with malignant tumors, especially over tumors. We want to present this encephalitis case which presented with psychosis and catatonia, both in terms of the patient’s demographical aspects and accomplishment of a full recovery.

Keywords: Anti N-methyl-D-aspartate (NMDA) receptor antibody encephalitis, autoimmune encephalitis; catatonia; encephalitis; psychosis.
